It’s with GREAT excitement that we announce our first shipment of homemade reusable cloth menstrual pads by the women of Empower Women in Africa and dedicated supporters donated to ten girls and one woman in Namibia!
What does each girl receive?
Each recipient will receive 3 pad bases with wings, 3 oval liners that are a double layer of flannel, 3 rectangular liners that are a triple layer of flannel, and a single “tri-fold” liner that, when folded, is 6 layers of flannel. They will each receive a Ziploc bag that will act as a storage container for soiled pads until they can be washed.
We couldn’t have done it without you!
Many thanks to everyone who helped out with our first donation of cloth menstrual pads – Lisa L. for a generous donation of flannel, Sue T. and Nancy C. for providing sewing machines for our project, Andy G. and Kaitlin W. for helping with the sewing, 5-year-old Wade T. for helping cut ribbon and rickrack, and Elizabeth W. for bringing the completed pads and liners to Namibia and distributing them to the girls in need!
We look forward to more partnerships in Namibia where we can donate more pads!
